Trapped in Target
So the other day me and my best friend Abby went to Target to get school supplies. It happened to be really rainy but we didn't think much of it at the time. So after spending a very extended time walking around Target, comparing the prices or mechanical pencils to make sure we were getting the best deal, we were finally ready to check out. Unfortunately we picked the worst line to wait in because there was this huge lady in a scooter in front of us who insisted in buying four GIANT tubs of cat litter. So we finally got checked out and were ready to leave. Abby called up her sister to come get us and no more than two seconds later her sister called back saying she could not come and get us until the Tornado Warning was over. To which we then looked outside at the downpour. After Abby hung up her phone a Target employee told us over a load speaker that everyone in the store had to gather at the back of the building. So Abby and I made our way to the back of the store by the electronics and we were ushered into an employee only hallway with all of the other customers. And then it dawned on me that I might experience my first Tornado in a Target. And at that moment I felt fear. I have never been scared of storms or Tornadoes before but I guess because I wasn't in the comfort of my home that this struck me with the tiniest bit of fear. Now I wasn't shaking with fear or anything but I was a little bit scared. But before I knew it the Tornado Warning was over and we were free to leave. Abby and I waited outside in the drizzle that was left from the storm and we discussed how cool it would have been if we would have been stuck there for a few hours, and how it would maybe it would have been like a movie and all the customers would start talking and learning about the other peoples lives, and we would leave with a better understanding of the people around us. Unfortunately that didn't happen. The best thing we got out of that experience was free popcorn and bottled water.
